I saw this commercial last night and am totally obsessed with it. I'd love to use it in our upcoming food unit, but I'm not really sure how to incorporate it. I mean, I could just show it, but I'd much rather have them do some sort of activity with it. Any suggestions or ideas?

Cute commercial!
Two weeks ago, I subbed a class where the kids had to draw their own Goya product using Spanish words on a poster.
Why not get a bunch of jars, take off labels, and have the students make "labels" to create a product - complete with name, picture and ingredients list?
That's an excellent idea, thanks Theresa!
Hey! I just came across your blog and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am hoping to get a placement as a Spanish teacher in Britain next September, and I think your insights are very helpful :) I'm currently working as an English teacher in Spain, and I do come across some situation you talk about in your blog :)
I love this and love your blog!
I love this commercial too! What an incredible ad to show in your Spanish classroom! Ok, for ideas on how to use the clip... what if you had the students begin by simply listing the various food items that they see in the video? Then, once you cover more detailed vocabulary, such as cutting, slicing & dicing, you could have them prepare a script for the commercial. This script could incorporate whatever grammar concept and vocabulary you have covered in the unit (accurate conjugations, commands, etc.). This would cover not only writing, but also speaking if you get the students to actually record the script.
Can't wait to use this commercial in my own classroom in the fall!
I don't know if it's been suggested yet, but maybe you could have your kids write a voice over part? Maybe you could learn about commercials and timing and then have the your students record their advertisements with the video. Good luck!
